CMB Faculty Member Elected AAAS Fellow
Professor Simona Ghetti, a faculty member at the UC Davis Center for Mind and Brain (CMB), was elected a 2025 Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). AAAS is the largest multidisciplinary scientific society in the world, with over 120,000 members, and is the publisher of the leading scientific journal Science.
Election as an AAAS Fellow is a prestigious honor, recognizing individuals for their exceptional contributions to science through research, teaching, administration, and science communication. Professor Ghetti was honored for her “distinguished contributions to the field of developmental cognitive neuroscience, particularly using behavioral and neuroimaging methods to understand the developmental trajectory of memory formation.”
Professor Ghetti’s research explores how memory and metamemory develop during childhood. In her Memory and Development Lab at the CMB, she investigates both typical and atypical memory development using a combination of behavioral and neuroimaging approaches. Her research has been supported by NIH and NSF, as well as by private foundations and industry partners.
