
CMB affiliate wins Leverhulme Trust Professorship at the University of Oxford

CMB affiliate Distinguished Professor Emeritus John S. (Jack) Werner was awarded a Leverhulme Trust Visiting Professorship to the University of Oxford in the Departments of Experimental Psychology and Engineering Science. He was also elected a Fellow of Pembroke College at the University of Oxford. Dr. Werner is visiting Oxford this academic year (2024-25), where he has given lectures and consulted on research and training. During his stay in the UK, he has also presented lectures at several universities under the auspices of the Leverhulme Trust visiting professorship. A vision scientist, Dr. Werner has made fundamental discoveries about the nature of human visual processing in health and disease. He is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus in the Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Science in the School of Medicine, and the Department of Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior in the College of Biological Sciences. He was a founding member of the Center for Vision Science, and has been a member of the Center for Mind and Brain at UC Davis since 2010. Among other awards, Dr. Werner is an elected fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science
