The visual system takes short-cuts representing the visual world to handle the immense amount of information available in each glance. I am using psychophysical and neuroimaging techniques to examine whether this is accomplished, in part: 1) by rapidly summarizing the redundant data in sets of similar objects, such as their average size, instead of representing each individual item, and 2) by averaging multiple glances of the same percept. Also, I like running, art, music, fashion, cartoons, and travel. |
